| Introduction The Waterworks Museum runs Open Days in Steam on the second and last Sundays in the month from April until the end of October, plus Easter Sunday/Monday and Spring Holiday Sunday/Monday and August Holiday Sunday/Monday. During the summer season several of the Open Days in Steam involve extra activities and attractions. The Museum welcomes enquiries for private, family or group visits. Some organisations visit the Museum on a regular basis. We can host meetings, conferences, car rallies and many other types of gathering. Painting and artistic groups use the Museum for subject matter and inspiration. We also host wedding receptions, together with children?s and adult?s birthday or celebratory parties. The Museum combines excellent meeting facilities with a superb working museum. This is quite rare. |
Opening times The Waterworks Museum is open every Tuesday all year round, except two weeks at Christmas and New Year. Opening times 11:00am to 4:00 pm. Exhibits powered by electric motors are usually working but the steam and internal combustion engines are not normally working unless being tested during maintenance. On Open Days in Steam the Museum endeavours to have as many of its engines working as possible. Clearly vintage engines are subject to break-down and maintenance, and we may not always be able to have specific engines working on all open days. |
