“The Waterworks Museum offered me a welcome and friendly introduction into the role of the volunteer. Joining the team has enabled me to meet new people and develop friendships with other volunteers who are happy to share their range of skills, interests and hobbies. It has broadened my knowledge of the local area and its historical links to the past.
My interest in WW2 has been enhanced further due to my involvement in the exhibition which forms part of the collection. It is inspiring to listen to visitors recalling facts, passed down from family members, in relation to the Rotherwas Munitions Factory or life in general throughout the 1940’s.”
“Volunteering at the Museum has given me the chance to learn new skills. I also enjoy being part of a team working on the restoration of the engines and pumps, and working on the refurbishment of the visitor center”
