On Sunday, 31 July 2016 The Right Worshipful Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Jim Kenyon will officially open two new engine displays in the Southall Gallery at the Waterworks Museum. Two fine examples of historic engines have been restored to their former glory by the Museum’s volunteer engineers: an extremely rare Campbell gas engine and a Blackstone Oil Engine designed for use by apprentices to make measurements of brake horsepower.
Do join the Trustees for this festive day which will include a cavalcade of vintage and interesting vehicles and entertainment from the Hereford Concert Band. And as usual for Museum open-days, all of the engines will be operating ('in steam') and our Heritage Water Park will be open to entertain our younger visitors.
The Museum will be open from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. The Mayor will arrive for the official opening at 3.00pm.
