We love an anniversary at the Waterworks Museum. What better reason for a celebration and the chance to share the enthusiasm of our volunteers with our visitors. So while the Museum may be closed currently, we can think of eight good reasons to plan a visit next year. The chance to see five restored and working and three other exhibits that celebrated an anniversary in 2020, including our iconic triple expansion steam engine, the engines from Alton Court waterworks in Ross on Wye and our Glenfield & Kennedy pump.
In a normal year 31 October marks the end of our season of family open-days and is the time when we turn our attention to planning events for visitors to enjoy next year. But this is no normal year and, as yet, we don’t know how Covid-19 might impact on our programme of events next year. If all goes well then we will have our first in-steam family day on Sunday 28 March and an opening of our refurbished Visitor Centre on Easter Sunday. However, because of the uncertainty of Covid, we will wait until January to publish our Calendar, which we hope will include some of the events cancelled in 2020.
To receive updated information on our Calendar please follow the Waterworks Museum on Facebook or Twitter (@WaterworkMuseum) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our mailing list.
