The Museum’s Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 7 March 2016 when close to 40 Members approved proposals to mark the standing down of the Chairman, Dr Noel Meeke MBE, after 20 years of leading the Museum. The AGM also passed routine business resolutions to approve the Trustees Annual Report and Accounts for 2015 and for the annual re-appointment of the President, the Trustees, the Museum Mentor and the Reporting Accountant.
After the meeting, Members were entertained by an illustrated talk by Mary Watkins, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s award winning peripatetic teacher, who delivers lessons in the Museum’s Education Centre. Entitled 'Bottle Tops, Banana Leaves and Rwandan Teachers’, Mary told of her experience as a VSO Volunteer in Rwanda and the year she spent helping young teachers how, even with very limited resources, to make lessons for children a fun learning experience. Mary’s talk was thoroughly enjoyed by all those present.
