Nice, relaxing hour in lovely surroundings

To be honest I was not looking forward to going, I thought there was nothing there for me, no interest what so ever! But after years of dragging my Husband around old houses it was his turn so off we went. The best thing for me was finding out the history of the engines on display, not just the technical stuff but where they came from, what they were used for etc. The people were friendly and obviously had a great love of their subject and the huge triple expansion engine powered water pump is something to behold in motion. There is also what looks like a brilliant play park for the children which we did not use but it looked like the kids were having a whale of a time. The grounds are small but beautifully kept. Altogether a very pleasant afternoon. Oh and a great cup of tea!
